Hiya everyone! The burnt cheesecake i.e. Basque burnt cheesecake has been on the trendy list of baked goods ever since it went viral on TikTok and basically the whole entire social media platforms. Contrary to what y’all might think, it is actually really easy to pull off.

This cheesecake is the alter ego to the classic New York–style cheesecake. Originated from the Basques, this is the cheesecake that wants to get burnt, cracked, and cooked at high heat. Which also means this is the cheesecake that’s impossible to mess up i.e. completely fool-proof!

Since most of us these days already owned an airfryer- why don’t we make use of it to its fullest extent, right? This cake requires you to bake it using- wait for it-  an airfryer! Seems impossible, but we’ve tested it out and it turned out perfect!

Let’s dive straight into the recipe, shall we?

Ingredients:

Cream Cheese – 250g

Whipping Cream – 125g

Caster Sugar – 1/2 cup

All Purpose Flour – 2 tbsp

Egg – 3

*Flour Type: Use all-purpose, superfine, cake flour or self raising flour

Steps:
  1. Put all the ingredients in your blender and blend it all all until they have a smooth texture, making sure there are no lumps in there.
  2. Pour the blended mixture into a 6-inch baking tray and put the tray into the air fryer.
  3. Set the air fryer 180 degrees and bake for 25 minutes.
  4. Then, set the cake aside to cool before serving.

…and you’re done! it’s that simple, told you!

Here’s an additional tips- do it ahead: this cheesecake can be made 1 day ahead, if you’re entertaining or whatever. All you have to do is cover and chill it. Be sure to let the cheesecake sit for several hours at room temperature to remove chill before serving.
