Batik is a very important and evident part of our Malaysian culture. We see it mainly on silk shirts men sometimes wear for official functions and sarongs, blouses and dresses on women. The designs are highly influenced by flowers, geometrical shapes like spirals, dots and straight and wavy lines. Also, sometimes the designs incorporate unique animal patterns such as butterflies as well.
