We have several layers of materials that’s essential to keep a terrarium healthy. Every layers have its purpose to be in these terrariums!
Pebbles: Served as drainage.
Preserved Sphagnum Moss: For serving as a partition to prevent soil from getting into the drainage and to retain water.
Soil: To provide as a medium for root growths and provide nutrients for plants.
Rocks: To provide slopes and decorative purposes.
Plants and Figurines: These are the components that make each terrarium unique and exclusive.
Plants usually grow toward light source, so it might means that they might not be getting enough light. Some plants stretches out to get more light, so overgrowing might be the way to stretch towards the light. You can prune them by cutting the plant by the nodes, leaving some leaves for photosynthesis. It would be best to move the terrarium to an area with better lightings too.
