There are already so much on offer that few would be thinking of a wide selection of adventure activities that adventurous soul would appreciate and thoroughly enjoy. We have compiled a list of the top adventures in Malaysia which remain our favourite adventure holidays in Malaysia. For the less than adventurous traveler, step out of your comfort zone and try out some of the fun activities listed as well!
1) ATV Ride, Kuala Lumpur
For starters, ATV is a quad bike that is used to drive along muddy trails within jungles. Get yourself wild and “dirty” with an off-road adventure in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital. You could check out the available ATV tours with different packages being offered by operators. The tours will mainly take passengers along rivers and “swivel” through jungles up to two hours. Therefore, imagine yourself riding on a 4×4 through the muddy jungle akin to scenes only seen in movies. How cool is that!
2) Bungee Jumping, Selangor
Bungee jumping in Malaysia? Why haven’t I heard of it? Alright, Malaysia doesn’t have a reputation for bungee jumping in the same way as New Zealand. However, if the “leaping” urge is too strong to resist, you could satisfy your “cravings” by taking a plunge from 22 metres down in Sunway Lagoon situated in Selangor. Granted, the drop will not beat any others in the world but you may have some excitement up your sleeve. Do check out the theme park of Sunway Lagoon though, where the heat of excitement will surely continue to rise.
3) Flyboarding, Putrajaya.
Maybe you have tried it elsewhere but having flyboarding in Malaysia definitely offers you a different experience. For individuals who are not familiar with the activity of flyboarding, it is an adventurous activity where you stand on a board in the water and staying afloat in midair with a high-pressured jetpack attached to your back. The jetpack releases streams of high- velocity water vertically down your back, allowing navigation on your part. So if you would like to try an affordable “flying” experience, head to Maritime Putrajaya but take note that limited places are available. Do check out the time of operation too before reserving your bookings.
4) Skytrex Adventure, Melaka
Get a feel of swinging from tree to tree in the jungle or challenge yourself to an extreme obstacles course in Skytrex, where you will be presented an opportunity to showcase your skills while enjoying the vibe of nature. It is never a boring place especially if you are accompanied by friends or families, creating a bond between you that very few activities would have achieved. You are bound to face three levels of circuits including Little Adventure, Big Thrill, and Extreme Challenge. Sure as it sounds, the higher the level, the taller the circuit is, and so the more nerve-wracking it becomes.
5) Waterfall Abseiling, Sungai Pisang
Though it might sound a little bit unpleasant for the lazy bones, it might prove to be thrilling for others. Instead of just dipping in the icy water of the waterfall and enjoy a lazy afternoon having a picnic nearby, why not challenge yourself further by taking part in waterfall abseiling? No matter your objective is to enjoy a chilling afternoon in a natural setting or exert yourself thoroughly in a routinely athletic manner, you could have the best of both worlds in waterfall abseiling! Head over to Sungai Pisang, Gombak for such activity! You could also pick waterfall flying fox activity as well that serves to be another thrilling experience amid a serene and lush environment!
6) White Water Rafting, Gopeng
It’s hot in Malaysia. For thrill-seekers, it would be absolute fun to enjoy some exciting moments in the water! You would not be submerged in the water though, what you need is a raft and off you go! Call upon your warrior friends or families, suit up in “protective armour” and off you go battling the gushing waters of the river while trying to maintain your composure and staying afloat! But keep in mind that it is not for the faint-hearted! Nevertheless, a wonderful experience which you should try it!
7) Coral Flyer Zipline, Sabah
If you have visited most of Malaysia’s peninsular, then it’s time to have some fun on the east coast. What could the east coast offer the thrill-seekers then? We have discovered one which will almost certainly blow your mind off! Having used to flying fox activity from tree to tree? What about try one which could let you “fly” from island to island?
